GameSpy Middleware Nominated for 2008 Front Line Award
The nominations for Game Developer Magazine’s 2008 Front Line Awards have been announced … and looky there! GameSpy has nabbed a nod in the “Best Middleware” category. This is the tenth year that the Front Line Awards have been handed out – and Game Developer’s sister publication, Gamasutra.com, notes that, “… finalists represent the most innovative, user-friendly, and useful products from behind the scenes of the world’s best video games.” After a year of supporting truly innovative best-sellers like Grand Theft Auto IV, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat vs. DC, GameSpy is extremely proud to have been recognized for its efforts.
We’re already fantasizing about the potential prize should we be fortunate enough to actually win. We hope it’s one of these … it IS a major award, after all.
Seriously though, really is an honor just to be nominated, and we’re grateful to be sharing the category alongside the brilliant folks at Havok, Autodesk, Euphoria, and PathEngine.
You can see the full list of nominees over at Gamasutra and you can learn more about the awards on Game Developer’s Wesbite.
Winners will be announced in January 2009 … we hope it’s not too much to ask for you to keep your fingers crossed for us until then (you can type with three fingers, right?).

Quickly…
