Sake Spotted in March of the Minis

We announced the availability of our GameSpy Sake, our persistent storage solution, at the Game Developers Conference earlier this year. Now I'm pleased to say that you can see it in action in Nintendo's new Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis.

Like all Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection titles, March of the Minis uses GameSpy's Connect and Community services to help gamers find opponents and build buddy lists. Nintendo put Sake to use in March of the Minis to add extra depth, allowing players to store and share levels that they created with the in-game level editor online.

People are enjoying it. See what IGN had to say about the online functionality in their review:

[Nintendo gave it] a huge amount of legs by not only offering a full-featured level designer into the mix, but also throwing Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support so players can create and trade their own creations across the globe. It's a wonderful addition because ... it gives endless replay thanks to players all over the planet building their own creations.

We're happy to have played a part in bringing Nintendo's vision to life. Find out what our other community building tools can do for you.

We love to talk about making games larger than life. Send us a note.
