The GameSpy ATLAS competition system allows players to answer the age-old question, "Am I a noob?" By tracking game events like kills, enemy units destroyed, or resources consumed, players are able to measure their performance against the game itself as well as buddies and opponents.

You, the developer, are able to glean valuable feedback by examining aggregate game play data. Don’t rely on forum feedback on whether or not a weapon or faction is too powerful: measure it! Don’t rely on a small set of users to tell you what the most popular maps, campaigns and inventory items are: measure it!

Any game play model: join-in-progress or coordinated start.

Any genre: FPS, RTS, sports, horse racing management.

You name it, ATLAS can track it.

We've spent long days and nights looking for ways to automatically detect cheaters and hackers so you don't have to. ATLAS analyzes game play results using a "collaborative" reporting scheme that automatically tosses out bogus results.

You don't need to hold the world on your shoulders. Let ATLAS lend you a hand.

The ATLAS System

ATLAS provides a simple API for reliably and securely reporting data from the game to the ATLAS backend for normalization and processing. Game data is encrypted (and may be optionally submitted via SSL) and normalized against other participant reports to minimize opportunities for cheating.

Once match data is submitted it can be processed in a multitude of ways. Setup is accomplished by a simple, intuitive web-based admin tool that will help you calculate incrementing stats, streaks and ELO-like scores in no time.

Processed data is stored in GameSpy's Sake Persistent Storage system allowing quick and easy access to data via the Sake API in-game or via web-services for display on your own website.

  • Secure, certificate-based player authentication
  • Data submissions encrypted and, optionally, transmitted via SSL for increased security
  • Support for disk-based caching enabling offline results
  • “Collaborative” reporting mechanism provides backend check for data tampering
  • Web-based admin tools for configuring data processing rules.
  • Available operations include increment, decrement, multiply, divide, streak, ratio, etc. Custom operations easily added upon request.
  • Web-based tools for debugging data submission, processing
  • Support for rules versioning
  • One-click creation of Arena ladders
  • Data available via "GameSpy Sake" Persistent Storage for in-game use, web services for web use

GameSpy Arena Ladder System

GameSpy Arena is a universal competition platform, designed to provide players and game developers alike with the tools for creating turnkey online competitive communities. Arena's design automatically accepts reported match results from ATLAS, and posts these results into co-branded ladder/community pages.

GameSpy Arena gives you a full-featured, web-based ladder and community tool with just a few clicks of the mouse.
